Registered for the Global Consciousness Project on August 11th. The package arrived on August 13th, I took it out and set it up on 14th. The packaging looked a bit shallow but everything was in perfect condition. It did not come with a local power adapter but it was okay because I had one laying around.
I connected it to an isolated VLAN just in case. As it can get remote firmware updates, it seemed a bit dangerous to have it directly in the same LAN with other devices. Just in case also captured some of its packets to confirm that it communicated with an AWS instance as well as with what might have been an NTP server and that it didn't do anything suspicious.
After powering it on, it wanted me to register it with the ID and an activation code which it displayed on its tiny screen. After registering it showed it was gathering data for a while, after which the display went dark. I tried pressing the display cycle button a couple of times. The button was a bit tricky to reach 😅. Anyway, it showed the following:

Looked around for an indication that it was successfully connected and functioning but had to wait until the end of the month for it to show up on the live map and list of devices with data available for download. After that it seems it's available on the daily.
I think state 7 is probably the nominal state and ETH 2 NTP 2 most likely indicates that everything is good with the internet connection and NTP time synchronization.
After winding the time forward to September 1st, I found that my device had appeared on the live data map and I could download the data associated to the device. There was some data from November 17, 2024 up to November 19, 2024, which I assume must have been a factory test run.
There's a data point of coherence with a label of significance each minute. Surprisingly, already the first weeks of data contained coherence values with "Extreme" significance: August 18th, 21st, 25th and 29th. A GNumeric plot is shown below:

Me squints at the plot. I'm not sure what I'm seeing here exactly. At first I thought the device might become more excited as I walk past it. Roughly the time I usually crawl into the kitchen for a glass of water at night, then the time I leave for work. But right now I'm just thinking that more data is needed. XD
I want to experiment with meditating next to it sometimes, to see if that has an effect on the coherence.
